Warm, energetic Nu-soul and dreamy alt-pop singer songwriter soundscapes with mellow keys and intoxicating electronics…

Mamilah are a Leeds based nu-soul 7 piece, who have been infusing the sounds of the recent UK jazz resurgence with soul since 2017. The groups live show is praised for it’s energy, warmth and display of genuine happiness and friendship and the group are self releasing their third EP ‘Old Parade’ in April 2022.

Performances include Boomtown Fair, El Dorado Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival, The Hootananny (Brixton) & Belgrave Music Hall alongside KOKOROKO, Craig Charles, Kool and the Gang, Yazmin Lacey & Galaxians. They have been supported by Jazz FM, Global Soul, BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire, Bandcamp Daily and Clash Magazine.

Collecting stories from a life led across Brazil, North America and the UK, Nadedja’s songwriting is soulful, truly inspiring and utterly unique. Her dreamy sound emerges from beautiful alt-pop soundscapes, mellow keys, intoxicating electronics and breathtaking vocals. It’s the perfect framework to highlight her inspiring storytelling; the kind of reflective, open and heartfelt lyricism you’d expect from such a unique life story.

“She has a soulful and dexterous voice and a sound that is thoroughly contemporary with programmed beats, vocal harmonies that could be the Staves, a melody that could be Solange and a folky Alt Pop sensibility that could be Arlo Parks. Mostly though, it is classy, dynamic and impressive. A real talent.” Neil March, Fresh On The Net

She has a particular universe that cannot be confused . . . We are expecting good future news with several new music projects for 2021 from Nadedja and we cannot wait.” Conversations About Her
