Lauren Drummond graduated from a fine art degree at Northumbria University in 2014 and amongst other schemes took up our graduate studio opportunity for a year. When a workshop space became available she came back to Cobalt.
She predominantly works between sculpture, installation and drawing. Her work draws on visual language from architectural drafting; her immediate city based surroundings and extended research into a more rural forest environment. Combining this with an entirely invented reality or landscape the outcome develops into a sort of ‘elsewhere’ evolving a series of parallel places which are neither altogether truly real, nor truly not.
